REVIEW | Krystal Kiss Cosmetics Velvet Petals Liquid to Matte Lipstick + 30% OFF!

Happy Wednesday, next week is a busy one with Pancake Day, Valentines Day and Chinese New Year in the space of four days – I am glad that I have the week off!

As it is Valentines day coming up, I thought it would be perfect timing to share this beautiful shade from the Velvet Petals collection by Krystal Kiss Cosmetics. You may have already seen my review on the brand back in November, and true to my word I decided to explore something new from their range.

Here are some of the reasons why I love Krystal Kiss:

  • All the products are handmade, with a custom shade and texture service to make the lipstick bespoke to the customer at no extra cost.
  • The brand is certified cruelty free, using natural ingredients which are suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans.
  • Just some of the ingredients the lipsticks are free from include parabens, SLS, Gluten and GMO.

In addition to this, from a personal perspective I have built a really good relationship with Kerie, the Founder of Krystal Kiss Cosmetics and I can message her any time when I have a query or want to share some good news with her.

I bought the shade Ruby Amore, which is a beautiful Garnet red shade. The packaging is sleek but robust enough to be battered lovingly carried around in a handbag, with the distinctive Krystal Kiss Cosmetics logo on the top on the tube.

The formula is very liquid but not uncontrollable, it dries down quickly and seems to skip that horrible sticky stage when you forget your lips are drying and accidentally press them together prematurely! Personally, I’m not keen on using lip liners, I like to chance them without and pray that it doesn’t start to feather three hours later so I was very impressed when I saw no feathering at the end of the day after using this liquid lipstick.

You can see where the lipstick is starting to dry down

I applied the lipstick at 9am on the train to Paddington (along with my eyelashes), I had to do one very small touch up to the inside of my bottom lip at 4pm just before getting on the tube again and that was it!

Freshly applied in the morning, after breakfast.

My expression is horrific, basically I sent this to my friend because I borrowed her scarf and ended up taking it home. But this was taken at 9pm, 12 hours after my inital application!

I still cannot believe I managed 12 hours of talking, eating, drinking, laughing and smiling (I haven’t tested if this is kissproof yet though!) without signs of cracking or fading from this lipstick. It looked as good as the minute I applied it when time came for removal and my lips didn’t feel dried out like the Sahara afterwards. Removal was easy too, I just wiped a scrubby pad over my lips along with normal makeup remover.

During my trip to London, I popped in to Boots in Westfield where I was stopped by an Elizabet Arden representative who loved and swatched the lipstick on her back of her hand so I passed on the brand details with her, she too was impressed by the longevity of the product.

So this brings me to my point, as it is Valentines and love is all around, Kerie has kindly given me a code to share which entitles you to 30% off the shade Ruby Amore. Simply use LEILANI30 at the checkout to receive your 30% off – be quick, this offer is valid until the 21st February 2018!

Happy Valentines!
