They say it’s pretty difficult to shop for man during Christmas or even on any other special occasion like birthdays but I disagree (and when I say “They” I mean women). It’s really simple actually, I mean what do most men do and enjoy? sports, video-games, tech – and that’s just to name a few. Here are my top 5 gift ideas for men*, from a male perspective.
1 – Video Games. This is a really simple one and a no brainer. 9 out of 10 men own a games console or a PC. All you have to do is pay attention to the games and console(s) he owns and purchase accordingly. It’s also worth finding out the type of games he likes. For example, you’ve got adventure games like Assassins Creed or racing games like Project Cars. If you’re not quite sure go for the safe option of either Fifa or Call of Duty! (Make sure it’s the latest release!)
*Bonus – if you’re still having trouble, just get a PSN, Xbox Live or a Steam (PC) Gift Card*
2 – Watches. There are traditional watches or there are smart watches. Which one to go for is up to you but I would choose the traditional standard watch as its safe and a smart watch isn’t all that necessary to be honest. There are the solid brands like Seiko, Casio and Swatch but you can also go for designer watch brands like Diesel, Emporio Armani, Michael Kors. I think rather than going for the usual perfume gift set, choose a watch that will suit your man.
3 – Sports Team Merchandise. All you have to do is find out what team he supports in the sport he likes. Simple no? For example, I’m an Arsenal fan and the obvious gift would be the team kit, however this can be expensive so there are always other merchandised gifts like mugs, jumpers and t-shirts. I would recommend going to the sports team website first as its licensed and official merchandise.
4 – Tech/Gadgets. This is quite broad but there are a lot of options. This includes drones, robots (Leilani showed me the Anki Cozmo, which is really cool), speakers (Amazon Echo or Sonos) and the list goes on. You can even put VR in this category which will get you girlfriend brownie points. Anything that is shiny, will grab his attention for a long period of time and has some form of tech in it is worth investing in.
5 – Clothing/Accessories. This is generally overlooked but I think the best and easiest from this category would be a Wallet, it’s something practical and can be stylish. The two quality examples I can give would be the Jaimie Jacobs Men Magic Wallet or Barbour. Investing in a quality brand will ensure its durable and will last a long time. The last thing you want is all your cash flying out because you decided to get a value branded wallet.
So there you have it, 5 different gift ideas for men. Isn’t so hard is it? 😉
I hope this helps and I hope to potentially see you “Cheeleaders” in another blog post!
*Anything I’ve mentioned can be purchased from the likes of Amazon, Argos or John Lewis
