The nail polishes by Barry M are ones that I have heard great things about. My main intention to experience this brand was to try out their foundation which I will also review soon too. But Boots had a deal where if I spent over £7 I would get a free makeup bag which you can never have too many of.
I bought the shade 616 Vintage Violet from their standard nail paint range for £2.99. They have a lot of different ranges including a Gel version and Coconut infused one, in all the ranges they have an array of colours to choose from.
The bottle doesn’t have much information on it and after checking on their website, there were no specifics about how many coats to put or how long it’s expected to last.
I started with my normal routine on natural nails – prep with acetone, file, cuticle clip and base polish. I used Nails Inc Kensington Caviar base coat.
I applied 2 coats which dried very quickly and were opaque. I didn’t out a top coat because I wanted to see how long the polish would last and also how shiny it was. There was a bit of shine to it, but nothing I would get excited over.
It took 4 days before I got my first chip and by 7 days there was no polish left on my thumb. I’m not disappointed in this polish as it is from the standard range and I’m sure the other types offer a better longevity. You get what you pay for I guess and this is a Vegan polish which is probably the most easily accessible and cheapest Vegan polish in terms of where you can buy it.
My nails were in really good condition when I took the polish off and it didn’t leave any staining behind.
In conclusion, I would like to try out some colours from the different ranges especially the Coconut Infused ones. For £2.99 and Vegan you can’t go wrong, just don’t expect a 7 day manicure out of it.
