VIRAL HACK | DIY 3D False Eyelashes

Sunday mornings are so lazy, my favourite thing to do is just watch YouTube videos in bed before I get up and out.. This new hack has dropped and basically it makes cheap lashes look expensive by giving them a 3D effect.

I love 3D lashes but they are SO expensive, I really don’t think they are worth £10+ for a set. I have started using GWA Mythical Merbabe lashes, they’re only £4 in Savers (review coming soon) and I love them but when I saw this little hack I thought it was definitely worth a go.

Basically all you need is a spoolie brush, cheap set of lashes and a bit of patience. The method is that you aggressively brush the lashes back towards the band, so I brushed the lashes back using a wiggling technique whilst rolling my brush at the same time and I made sure to scoop the lashes from underneath as I was brushing.

Initially I tried this out with Ardell Demi Wispies which are about average in price and my go to lashes for a natural look.

As you can see the top lash vs the bottom lash it didn’t really make that much of a difference, which was disappointing but they aren’t the typical cheap plasticky lash that this hack is designed for.

Both lashes look exactly the same, the one on the left is in its original state and the one on the right has been hack treated.

Not defeated by the first attempt, I tried again using the cheapest pair of lashes I could find. They’re from China, cost £1.50 and look very false!

The hack worked so well on these lashes! They were so flat and plastic but following the spoolie brush out they became softer and layered. I am so impressed by this!

You can really see a difference in the lashes on the right compared to the original state of the left lashes.

I’m not sure how the original creator of this discovered this method – maybe whilst the lashes were being washed out following use and brushed back in to shape? It is the best thing I will probably learn from the beauty world this year, I just wish I thought of it first 🙈

Four Apps You NEED As A Blogger

Check out this really useful post by the wonderful Currently Lately – I will definitely be downloading Canva!

Currently, Lately

Hello, hello!

Happy Sunday to you all.

I hope things have been going well for you. As I’m sitting down to write this post, it’s currently cold and miserable outside. I had actually been planning to do an OOTD today, but when I looked outside and saw the weather conditions (windy, snowy, generally gross), I ultimately decided against it. I cannot tell you how ready I am for winter to be OVER.

Anyway, to pick myself up and out of this winter slump, I thought I would write a post on a more upbeat topic: apps I love.

As a blogger, I’ve discovered that having certain apps at my disposal has made my life a whole lot easier. That being said, today I want to share a few of my top ones.

These apps are pretty popular in the blogosphere. But I figure if you’re new, maybe you haven’t heard…

REVIEW | Schwarzkopf Color Mask

It was New Years Eve and I was adament that I was leaving my roots in 2017 (if it was only for another 6 weeks that is), New Years Eve fell on a Sunday so I was already at a disadvantage with the shops closing early. I wanted some cheap eyelashes and we were in Reading and although I am ok with the layout of the town, I am not as familiar as though it were Uxbridge or Windsor so armed with Google Maps I descended down one of the side streets that seemed a little dodgy but I had my boyfriend being dragged alongside me so it wasn’t too bad and we headed to Savers. That is where I found this hair dye and it was only about £4 I think so a bargain in a jam.

Apart from when I bleach it, I only ever colour my hair using Schwarzkopf but the last time I used the brand was in 2016 with the post Schwarzkopf XXL Live Colour Review (which is also my most popular blog post over the years) so I was aware they have a crap tonne of new formulas and techiniques to try out, I decided to try out the Schwarzkopf Colour Mask in the shade 910 Champagne Blonde. How I Edit My Current Instagram Photos

Check out this wonderful post by Emily Clare Beauty, this has definitely given me edit inspo!

Emily Clare

I don’t think you ever appreciate good health until you are ill and you think ‘DAMN why did I take it for granted?!’ So yeah I am ill, I have been feeling blehhhhhhh since Friday evening, hence why I have been ultra quiet on my blog and social media. But I am going to take the time to whilst I am sat on the sofa feeling sorry for myself watching a Stacey Dooley documentary, to write some blog posts for the next few days.

Everyone knows by now, from how much I complain on here and Instagram, how I have  MEGA love-hate deal with my photos. I get BORED V quickly and I just feel so crap about the way they look. My Instagram algorithm is pretty bad, but I don’t have the time to spend on it to improve it… if only the summer could come around quicker so…

I have a problem, usually when I have finished one product I will always have a backup in place and then throw out the used product (that was before I started my project empties in which I am saving up all my empties from 2018 and seeing how much I use/spend throughout the year), but when it comes to Mascara I seem to buy one then throw the previous one in to a drawer never to see daylight again – some of the mascaras I am about to share with you I have had since 2014! I have thrown some of them away already, although these were repurchases.

When it comes to Mascara, I am super conscious of their short shelf life and abide by this as your eyes are so sensitive you really don’t want to mess around with them. I have clumped together the tubes in three brands – L’Oreal, Maybelline and Miscellaneous. Continue reading “THROWAWAY HAUL| Mascara”

REVIEW | Wheesht skincare

In the beginning of January, I received two items from a new Scottish based natural skincare brand called Wheesht. After a brief discussion on my skin type, Kelly, the owner sent me over a sample pouch of Moroccan Detox Clay Mask along with a very generous sized sample jar of Mango Moisture Balm Cleanser and Mask. You can use these products on their own or in combination.

Before I get in to reviewing the products individually, I really liked the packaging. The Mango Moisture Balm Cleanser and Mask was sealed with an anti tamper label for hygiene and the Moroccan Detox Clay Mask was presented in a pouch that declared what it was with the branding all over it. Through and through it was a good first impression to open up. I also love the brand ethic as 25p from selected sales will go towards providing safe drinking water in Cambodia for up to 20days.
